A few points of interest:

Poultry products serve as the main source of human infection.

It is an inflammatory enteritis.

Despite its name it involves the colon as well as the small intestine.

Campylobacter jejuni is an important precipitant of Guillain-Barré syndrome, both the demyelinating form and the axonal degeneration form.

Campylobacter jejuni (along with other gastrointestinal infections) can lead to reactive arthritis.

Antibiotic treatment is controversial for immumocompetent patients and decisions are based on the severity of illness.
